What does it mean to you to be quirky and what do you love about it?
For me, being quirky is not following the crowd. I seem to have an innate desire to champion the bad guy, do something different every day, and ultimately make people think about my choices and why I might do something different to the norm.
What I love about being quirky is that by being on the edges and not just being that vanilla kind of person, you end up meeting some fantastic people. By making the choices I have in life, it’s brought me into contact with so many different and interesting people and in turn that then shapes my life in ever more interesting ways.
What’s a secret, unusual talent that you have?
The ability to be quick with witty remarks ;) I have to be careful since not everyone shares my sense of humour!

Where do you find your mojo?
Travelling. Visiting different cultures and places just brings out a happier me. I remember we went to London for the weekend before Christmas last year, just as a different experience. It rained, was hugely busy and I just couldn’t imagine being happier just experiencing something exciting and new.
Explain one experiment you’ve done that changed your life:
The home educating of our kids. Although I always say that the whole of life is one big experiment and each choice you make leads you down a different path, this one choice with my kids lives, my husbands and my own life has brought so many rich experiences and I hope many fond memories.
If we hadn’t home educated, we’d never have been able to detach from the world and travel in 2013 and we’d not be able to be thinking about doing it again.
What’s your favorite recent discovery for…
Your home: that home is wherever my husband and kids are. It doesn’t need to be a physical, static location.
Your body: I never realised I was quite so short!
Your belly: it LOVES mexican food – can’t wait to try the real thing!
Your soul: talking to inspirational people just feeds my soul and fires it up!
Music: playlists for inspiration. For a few years I just stopped listening to music and now it’s come back!
Writing: that I am much kinder to myself when I journal than when I speak to myself in my head!
Art: I love being creative, especially fiddling with sites like pic monkey and making my own web pictures.

How do you celebrate the deliciousness of being quirky?
By exercising my freedom. I am truly free to follow whatever passions I come across and I really try and seize the moment with them. You never know where it might lead or you never know if it will lead to a talent or who it might put you in touch with.
What is your #1 tip for a fellow quirkster?
Follow your gut. If you’re interested in going down a different path in your life, don’t be afraid. The rewards are great! And if you’re still scared, just give it a try, you can always back out if you want to! Nothing is set in stone in this world, we can change whatever we want.
About: In 2013 I achieved a huge dream of mine which was to go travelling for more than a couple of weeks with my family. We ended up travelling for 5 months in our camper van through France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, England and Scotland, plus some day trips to other countries! I’d never been that great at achieving my dreams, so since I finally figured out what I did different this time I wanted to teach others and inspire others to get out there and get their dreams.
So, my site is Untrapped Life and I kickstart people’s dreams there by helping them become braver, get clarity on what they want to do and make plans to put them in to action. I also have a free bravery video series, so if you ever feel like you’re not brave enough to go for your dreams, have a look! http://untrappedlife.com/brave
I’ve also started a podcast where I interview amazing people who are achieving their dreams or have made huge leaps into the unknown. You can find it at http://untrappedlife.com/itunes
