Being quirky is all about carving your own world from the unexpected, finding the real You in the chaos of the mundane.

What does it mean to you to be quirky and what do you love about it?
I love standing out from the crowd and finding my own original answer to- everything from clothing to music. I love never seeing myself “coming and going” because if it’s not original, it’s not me. Being quirky is all about carving your own world from the unexpected, finding the real You in the chaos of the mundane. I don’t think outside the box, I reject the box!
What’s a secret, unusual talent that you have?
I compose music for the mouth- to anything (as long as I like it). I’ve been told that my whistle sounds like a divine slice of the sublime coming straight out of a wise old Asian sage- which I am not. The lips are my favorite instrument,- they are always with me!

Where do you find your mojo?
I am constantly asked about the source of my mojo. The big secret is that materials talk to me, wherever I go- I am always listening for that little voice in my head that gives me exact instructions on what can be used for a new purpose- the stuff is simply anywhere and everywhere- you just have to look! I have found mojo in the most unusual places including the back alleys of Chinatown, NYC.
Explain one experiment you’ve done that changed your life:
Moved to NYC four years ago with 2 bags…sorted my life down to what mattered the most and was shocked to see the results. I’d take reminders of the people I loved to the ends of the earth along with some really fabulous shoes! It was fascinating to see what you’d keep by your side when it was so little- and Start New all over again!

How do you celebrate the deliciousness of being quirky?
One of my favorite ways to celebrate being quirky is to put on my newest designer jewelry adornments and pair them with a fun, colorful, and usually vintage outfit and hit the streets of Manhattan. I have had people yelling at me from across the avenue to let me know how much they love a new creation of mine- it’s fun feedback done in style!
What is your #1 tip for a fellow quirkster?
Re-arrange your space at least 3 times a year! This awakens your senses in your most intimate of places- where you live! It makes everything new again- have a 2nd hand home party where you trade things from your home with your friends, or just give things away that you aren’t attached to, Hit the Personal Refresh Button Often!!!
